Jackal is awesome and should get a remake! For those that haven't played this game or are too young, it's a Jeep run' n' gun type of game where you need to save your brothers-in-arms that were held hostages behind enemy lines. But the firepower you face is awesome: cannons, tanks, submarines and snipers are waiting to blast you in the cross-fire. To defend yourself you must control the army's all-terrain jeep with its arsenal of missiles and grenades.

This NES game, Jackal Kicks A$$, and it deserves a remake. Common Game devs, are you blind?

Front Mission 3 is a strategy sci-fi adventure platformer which gives you giant mechanical war machines known as “Wanzers” to command in explosive, high-tech, turn-based warfare.

The game features a Double Feature Scenario System where you can choose from one of two independent stories, each with its own unique characters, situations and environments. Up to 150 hours of gameplay – complete with a myriad of twists and turns – awaits you. Are you ready to uncover the truth?

Larry Sparks, Vice President Brands PAL Region of Square Enix Ltd. says, “With the forthcoming release of Front Mission Evolved, the Front Mission series is back with a bang. Before the evolution of the series, we think it’s the perfect time to revisit a previous classic instalment with Front Mission 3. We’re very pleased to be able to bring this compelling title to the PlayStation Network.”

Update: It has been years since a remake of this game has been announced. It looks like it is finally going to happen. According to our sources, the game is being developed by Square Enix Japan along with former Armored Core producer Toshifumi Nabeshima.

Yesterday, there had been reports circulating online that the Final Fantasy XII for PS2 is going to be remade.

During the recent Final Fantasy Distant Worlds concert in Pittsburgh, composer Arnie Roth hinted that a Final Fantasy XII remake is underway. Big announcements like this typically aren't made as off-hand comments during concerts, so many doubted the validity of the claim, and rightfully so.

Arnie Roth has since announced via Facebook that using the word "remake" was a mistake and that he regrets any confusion caused by his statement. Here is his full statement on the slip-up.

"Dear friends,
In response to comments posted by fans, I want to rectify a statement made from the stage Saturday night at our Distant Worlds: music from FINAL FANTASY concert in Pittsburgh.
Following conversations with composer Hitoshi Sakimoto regarding new concert arrangements of music from FINAL FANTASY XII, regrettably, the term ‘remake’ was used in error during one of the announcements that took place from the stage during the concert.
We sincerely regret any confusion this has caused.

Square Enix has finally announced that an HD remake of Final Fantasy 7 is in development - Confirmed by IGN

Square Enix has unveiled this news during Sony’s press conference at E3 tonight, following a day full of rumors. “Play it first on PlayStation,” read the trailer, implying that it’ll be out for PC and Xbox One too.

FF VII and RPG fans have been clamoring for a remake of this game ever since... well, since the release of Final Fantasy VII. It has even become something of a long running joke, with Square Enix coming up with new excuses any time anyone asked why it hadn't happened yet ... so this is something surreal, to say the very least.

No release date as of this moment but they have begun production on the full remake of FINAL FANTASY® VII for the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system.
